Bobby McFerrin on "Blackbird"
One of my favorite song covers of all time comes from Bobby McFerrin's album "The Voice." He reworks the Beatles classic "Blackbird" into a Baroque-style unaccompanied masterpiece, interspersed with bird noises and mic effects.
I did this transcription during the winter of 2014, and rediscovered it as quarantine sent trombonists scrambling for unaccompanied repertoire to perform.
